Some people, namely my son, refuse to learn from advice and insist on learning thru tough, hard-learned lessons.
He and his girlfriend determined that they were ready to be out on their own and set out on their adventure just this morning. Without even a dime in their pockets, they hitched a ride in the back of a friends pickup truck determined to make their fortune in Galveston. Their ride just dropped them off and then headed back home. Meanwhile, these two kids set out on foot to find a job but to no avail. Here it is midnight and they are hungry, no money, no place to sleep, no transportation............Get the picture????? And they were mad because we wouldn't let them take my van with a bad tire on their stupid adventure.
So now, after their know everything adventure of stupidity, they are requesting us to make the trip to pick them up. Should I? At midnight? Or should I let them endure more hardships to make them understand the stupidity of their ways? I lean toward the latter. Not without worry for their safety, because afterall, Galveston is not the safest place to out and about at night. But he thinks he is soooooo much smarter than us and needs a harsh reality check. But then, I don't think even this will make him understand. He is, after all, as stubborn as they come.
I am so weary of dealing with this child. I'm constantly wondering how I can endure anymore of his antics but somehow, through the grace of God, I have endured this long.
In other news..........we took the kids to see Shrek the Third today. Fun! We loved the little ogre babies. lol I love any kind of babies. :D And....I have a new kitty! Someone dumped her in front of my house a week ago today. She was terrified but has learned to trust me over the past week. She still gets very upset if I carry her out of my bedroom, though, and gets terribly upset if I leave her alone. I'll have to get a picture of her posted soon. The kids all agreed on a name for her......Saphira........after the dragon in Eragon.
